The
club
was founded by John Wootton in 1997, containing ex-Sainsbury's colleagues
and school friends. We joined the Mercury Waltham League as 'The Vault' for
the 1997-98 Season (as a result of sponsorship by The Vault pub in Waltham
Cross). Unfortunately we were relegated to the old Division 7 at the end of
the season. Three seasons of mid-table obscurity in the bottom division
followed playing under a new name 'The Vine' due to a change of pub
sponsors. Since the 2001-2 season we have been playing under the permanent
name of Dynamo Cross. Having finished in the top half of the lowest Division
every season, a fourth-placed finish finally saw us go up to Division 4 for
the 2007-2008 season. Unfortunately the loss of a couple of key players and
a lack of new signings saw us finish last, and return to the bottom
division. We are now aiming to improve on last season's mid-table finish
back in the bottom division, and with the Gibbons brothers taking over the
running of the team for the 2009-10, we have high hopes of challenging for
promotion.
