CLUB HISTORY

In 2002 a group of friends put together a seven a side team to compete in Football Mundial over Southbury Leisure Centre. The team were highly successful and competed for two years winning one title and one five a side competition. In 2005, a wealthy business man, Andrew Hopkins, injected a large amount of money to wake the sleeping giant of Shadwell and re enter the Mercury Waltham League. That season the team survived under the guidance of the one and only (season) Ashley Warren who took Shadwell to their first ever cup final (League Junior Cup). En route we enjoyed success over Broxbourne Saints 2-1 (Quarter Final) and Abbey Youth 5-1 (Semi Final), so on it was to Broxbourne Borough V&E where we faced TJ Rangers on a cold Wednesday night in April 06. Shadwell conceded after 30 seconds but we regained our composure and won the cup 3-2 which sparked mass celebration and an Orange Tree lock in never to be forgotten. Onto 2006/07 season which saw the emergence of the now legendary Shadwell Youth Production Line, Adam Stock and Tony Wild took over the managerial reigns. We couldn't have got off to a worse start in losing our top goalscorer from the previous season John Ellis-Browne in only the third game of the season  to a broken ankle. However we soon got back on the cup trail (Intermediate Cup) and had turned over Highway Utd(4-3) Abbey Youth (3-0 AET) and Turnford  (4-0) before beating Data in the final 3-1. With continued ugliness amongst players 2007/08 looks like being another great season for Shadwell.
