Fines are administered for various reasons as outlined in the table below. These fines are notified to clubs by means of a ‘Red Peril’ fine notice.
 

A meeting date is shown on the fine notice when the League Management Committee discusses the fine. All fines numbered 100-700 are fixed penalty fines. Some of these fines (e.g. late/incorrect result cards) are on a scale basis from £5 for the first offence to £10 for the sixth offence. These fines, if accepted, should be paid immediately and be sent to David Butler (Assistant Treasurer) AND NOT the Fines Secretary. Cheques must be made payable to the 'Waltham Football League' (and not to 'D.Butler' or any other Officer).
All fines 800-900 are non-fixed fines, the amount for which is determined, following discussion, at the relevant League Management Committee Meeting. These must be paid to the Assistant Treasurer (as above) once you receive the Minutes from the meeting which confirms the amount your club has been fined.
 

Should your Club feel that there are mitigating circumstances with the issue of a fine notice, then you should write immediately to Denis Coventry (Fines Secretary). However if you wish to appeal against the fine then an appeal letter together with a payment of £10 should be sent to the Fines Secretary.
 

All fines are agreed and the fine confirmed to Club Secretaries by means of an Appendix ‘A’, sent together with minutes of the meeting. All fines are payable by the following Management Committee Meeting otherwise they are subject to an increase. Failure to pay the fine may then lead to your Club being suspended from playing football until it is paid.
 

Club Secretaries are advised that should they receive a Notice Of Intended Fine from the League Fines Secretary (Denis Coventry) for sending in an Incorrect Result Card, they must not phone the League Result Cards Secretary (Steve Summers) to query the proposed fine or the eventual decision made at the relevant League Management Committee Meeting.
ALL QUERIES OR COMPLAINTS REGARDING FINE NOTICES MUST BE MADE EITHER IN WRITING OR BY E-MAIL TO DENIS COVENTRY ONLY, either as a letter of mitigation or as an appeal.
