LEAGUE CONSTITUTION FOR SEASON 2009-2010          NEW: 26.5.09

The League Constitution for Season 2009-2010 was adopted by member clubs at the League Annual General Meeting on Thursday 21st May and full details can be found by clicking here.
There are no changes for next season in terms of the number of Divisions, which therefore means the League Senior Cup will still be for Premier Division & Division One teams, the League Intermediate Cup will be for Divisions Two & Three, and the League Junior Cup will be for teams in Division Four only.
The Roy Bailey Challenge Cup will once again have all teams in the League entering in the First Round.

AWARD WINNERS FOR SEASON 2008-2009        NEW: 26.5.09

The Awards for Season 2008-2009 were presented at the League Annual General Meeting on Thursday 21st May.
A group photo is below, but individual photos and details of all the Award Winners can be viewed by visiting the League Awards page.

To obtain a copy of any of the photos in full resolution (5 megapixels), please e-mail League Website Secretary Laurence Hughes and they will be sent to you by e-mail in return.

                      TOP GOALSCORERS - SEASON 2008-2009       NEW: 26.5.09

At the League Annual General Meeting on the 21st May, it was announced that Ryan Wade of Onnett finished as the League's Top Goalscorer for Season 2008-2009 with 39 goals...in addition to finishing Top Goalscorer in the Spartan South Midlands League on Saturdays ! Well done to him.
We hope to have the full list of goalscorers (taken from the Result Cards) supplied to us shortly, and the League Top Goalscorer's Page will then be updated as soon as possible.

NEW LEAGUE OFFICERS' ROLES               NEW: 26.5.09

There have been a number of changes made to League Officers' roles for Season 2009-2010.
Firstly,
Ian Andrews has now retired as an Officer after 9 years excellent service to the League, particularly in the very demanding role of General & County Secretary which he had carried out for the past 7 seasons. Ian's final County Secretary's Annual Report (for Season 2008-2009) can be read by clicking here.
Denis Coventry will now be taking over as General & County Secretary for Season 2009-2010 in addition to continuing with the roles of Registration Secretary and Records Secretary. Steve Summers will now be Fines Secretary, while Oakwood United Club Secretary Bob Cleary has been appointed as a League Officer to take over Steve's role as Result Cards Secretary. We also now have a new Referees' Secretary in Gary Bailey, who has taken over that job from Ian Andrews and Fred Beer. We welcome Bob and Gary on board.
We are also pleased to announce that League Competitions Secretary Dave Smith is now able to use a work e-mail address for League correspondence, and he is hoping to have a home e-mail address available at some stage during the season.
Click here for full details of all League Officers for Season 2009-2010.

CLUB DIRECTORY FOR SEASON 2009-2010              NEW: 26.5.09

The Club Directory for Season 2009-2010 has now been fully updated from the information given to us by Club Secretaries on their League Affiliation Forms. Please check your club's details and e-mail both League Website Secretary Laurence Hughes and League Secretary John Finn if any changes have been made since the forms were filled in. Club members can also e-mail Club Histories, Team Photos, Club Badges and details of Honours won to Laurence Hughes for inclusion in the Club Directory.
Also, clubs who have their own websites should inform Laurence Hughes if they are going to be updated after months of 'inactivity'. That will then be indicated on the Links Page.
As many players now travel to Away matches using SatNav devices, we have inserted the postcodes of venues used by teams in our League under their details in the Club Directory and also changed the links to maps of grounds from Streetmap to Google Maps' satellite images.  Hopefully this will make it easier for your players to find the venues for Away matches.

                           NEW CLUB SECRETARIES               NEW: 26.5.09

Secretaries of clubs that are new to the League this season and those who have just taken over the Club Secretary's role with existing member clubs are strongly advised to click here and read through the Club Secretary's Checklist on the League Information Page. The checklist can also be downloaded as a PDF file and printed off by clicking here. You should find this checklist far easier to follow than searching for certain rules and regulations in the League Handbook.
If you are unsure of how to fill in a League Result Card after a match, please click here to view a PDF file example.

GETTING PLAYERS REGISTERED FOR THE START OF THE SEASON     NEW: 26.5.09

The deadline for clubs to return their League Multi-Registration Forms for Season 2009-2010 to League Registration Secretary Denis Coventry is Saturday 11th July.
If you are registering a new player on the Multi-Registration Form, then one passport-type photograph must be included – with the player's name and club written on the reverse side in block letters.
Players already listed (pre-printed) on the Multi-Registration Form only have to sign the form to re-register for Season 2009-2010.
If a player already listed on the form does not wish to play for your club next season, then he does not sign the form and the space is left blank.

If there are any address/postcode changes, please write the amendment in block letters above the pre-printed address/postcode on the form and put a straight line through the old address.
If you are registering more than 30 players, you must include payment of £5.00 per set of 1-5 players. Cheques must be made payable to the 'Waltham Football League'.
(This is an amended rule for Season 2009-2010, as the previous limit for free registrations was 20 players).
The Club Secretary must sign and date every page of the Multi-Registration Form and also ensure that a 9" x 4" stamped addressed envelope is enclosed when the form is returned.

If you are posting the Multi-Registration Form back to Denis Coventry, check the weight and put the correct postage on the envelope. He will not collect any undelivered forms and your players will then be un-registered for Season 2008-2009. Also, please do not use Recorded Delivery.
If you take the Form to his house, please put it through the letterbox and do not ring on his doorbell.
Players who do not sign the Multi-Registration Form (including new players) will have to fill in individual registration forms (which can be downloaded here) and provide a new passport-size photo in order to be registered. For those players to be eligible to play on the first Sunday of the new season (6th September), forms and photos must be sent to League Registration Secretary Denis Coventry by Sunday 30th August at the latest.
Please note when you are registering players for this season that Contract Players are not allowed to play in Sunday League football. Also, please check that players have not already signed for another club in the League. It is a serious breach of League rules if players attempt to sign for more than one club.
The League Registration Secretary's page has now been updated for Season 2009-2010 and gives full details of procedures.

6th SEPTEMBER FIXTURES & PITCH AVAILABILITY     NEW: 26.5.09

All clubs are advised that they are only allowed to be released from a fixture on one date per season. If any club is unable to field a team on Sunday 6th September (the first day of the new season) because of player holidays, etc., and wish to use up their one allowable release date that Sunday, they must inform League Competitions Secretary Dave Smith IN WRITING no later than the 31st July. If they fail to do so, they will be penalised for a Non-Fulfilment of Fixture (Rule 10f) if they are given a game on this date and cannot field a side.
Dave Smith has also distributed a form to all clubs who do not hire pitches from the League requesting their pitch availability dates for Season 2009-2010. This form must be completed and returned by the 31st July otherwise clubs will be dealt with under League Rule 5m (Failing to deal with correspondence).
It is vital that Dave is given this information by the 31st July so that he can work out the opening League fixtures for the first three weeks of the new season.

COUNTY F.A. AFFILIATION NUMBERS          NEW: 26.5.09

All clubs affiliated to London, Essex or Middlesex are advised that League County Secretary Denis Coventry must be notified by phone or e-mail of County F.A. affiliation numbers for Season 2009-2010 by the 1st July at the latest. This is an F.A. requirement. Please make sure you send off your forms to your County F.A. promptly if you have not already done so.

RULE CHANGES FOR SEASON 2009-2010             NEW: 26.5.09

Please note that in line with other local Sunday Leagues, we have increased the Referees' Fees for Season 2009-2010 from £30.00 per match to £35.00 per match.
Also, Club Secretaries are advised that from Season 2009-2010 onwards, should they award a Referee a mark of 50 (out of 100) or less, then a written report of explanation must be sent to League Referees' Secretary Gary Bailey within five days of the match. (The previous limit was a mark of 40 or less for a written explanation to be sent).

                              PRE-SEASON FRIENDLIES                  NEW: 26.5.09

From late-July/early-August until the start of the season, we will be putting the scores of Pre-Season Friendlies involving clubs from our League on the Results Page if clubs wish to e-mail the information (including goalscorers) to League Website Secretary Laurence Hughes. (This is entirely optional).
In the meantime, Referees can indicate their availability for Pre-Season Friendlies by e-mailing Laurence Hughes, and that can then be displayed on the Referees' Page so that Club Secretaries can contact them. (The League do not appoint Referees for Friendly matches).

LEAGUE FULL COUNCIL MEETING                   NEW: 26.5.09

All Club Secretaries are advised that there is a LEAGUE FULL COUNCIL MEETING being held on THURSDAY 27th AUGUST 2009 at the Wolsey Hall, Windmill Lane, Cheshunt, Herts., starting at 8.00.p.m.  ALL CLUBS MUST BE REPRESENTED AT THIS MEETING or they will be liable to a £25.00 Fine under Rule 6(h).
This is the meeting at which clubs will be given their League handbooks, a supply of result cards, Cup Draws and details of their fixtures for September. The Cup Draws and Fixtures will then appear on the League Website the following day.
Click here to see a list of all League Meeting dates for Season 2009-2010.
